During a Christmas reception at the White House on December 14, President Trump offered solemn condolences to the victims of three major attacks that occurred over the weekend, including the shooting at Brown University in Rhode Island, the terrorist attack during a Hanukkah celebration in Australia, and an attack in Syria that killed three U.S. citizens.

Referring to the attack in Sydney during Hanukkah, President Trump condemned it as a purely antisemitic act that claimed the lives of at least 11 people and injured dozens more.
He emphasized that the United States will not remain silent in the face of religious hatred, stressing that observing Hanukkah openly and proudly is the strongest possible response to terrorism.
Although the event was organized to celebrate Christmas, President Trump urged Americans to also honor Hanukkah, describing it as an affirmation of religious freedom and unity in the face of violence.
According to the president, the light of faith and tradition will never be extinguished by terrorism.
