The Families of Hostages and Missing Persons Forum—an organization established to advocate for the release of Israeli captives held in Gaza—sent a letter to the Norwegian Nobel Committee on October 6, praising President Trump for “turning what many believed to be impossible into reality.”
“We earnestly urge the Nobel Committee to award the Nobel Peace Prize to President Trump, who has vowed not to rest or stop until the last hostage returns home,” the group wrote. They also highlighted Trump’s peace plan aimed at securing the release of all hostages in Gaza and ending the ongoing conflict. “Over the past year, no leader or organization has contributed more to global peace than President Trump,” the letter added.
Last week, President Trump unveiled a 20-point peace plan designed to achieve lasting peace in Gaza, which has received backing from Israel as well as several Arab and Muslim nations.
The plan calls for a ceasefire, the release of all Gaza hostages within 72 hours of agreement, the disarmament of Hamas, and the gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from the territory. A post-conflict transitional authority, the “Peace Council,” chaired by President Trump himself, would oversee the process.
President Trump has repeatedly stated that he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize, although experts consider his chances slim. He has claimed that during his two presidential terms, he helped resolve six to seven conflicts around the world.
