According to Fox News on August 13, Melania Trump’s attorney sent a legal notice to Hunter Biden over what they described as “false, defamatory, humiliating, and inflammatory statements” he made in a recent interview. This notice marks the first formal step in alerting him of her intent to file a lawsuit.
In the interview, uploaded on YouTube earlier this month, Hunter claimed that Epstein “introduced Melania to Donald Trump” and described their connection as the way the couple initially met. He further alleged that Melania had a “close relationship” with Epstein.
In the legal notice sent on August 6, attorney Alejandro Brito, representing Mrs. Trump, demanded that Hunter immediately retract his statements and issue a public apology. Failure to comply, the notice warned, could result in a lawsuit seeking damages for “enormous financial and reputational harm.”
“The interview has been widely shared by media outlets, journalists, and political commentators, spreading false and defamatory claims to tens of millions of people worldwide,” Brito stated.
Brito emphasized that Hunter Biden’s remarks were based on “false information” from author Michael Wolff, published in the Daily Beast, which later removed the article and issued an apology to Mrs. Trump.
The notice further stated, “If he does not comply by 5 PM on August 7, Mrs. Trump will have no choice but to pursue all her legal and equitable rights, including filing a lawsuit seeking over $1 billion in damages.”
