“The Richard Nixon Foundation has recognized President Donald Trump with its ‘Architect of Peace’ Award,” the White House said in a statement posted on X.
The award ceremony was held privately at the White House earlier the same day. According to CBS News, attendees included Tricia Nixon Cox, daughter of the late President Richard Nixon; former U.S. National Security Adviser Robert O’Brien; and Jim Byron, acting director of the National Archives.
The White House later released a short video featuring moments from the ceremony, while the Nixon Foundation’s website confirmed Trump as this year’s recipient.
Founded by Richard Nixon in 1983, the Richard Nixon Foundation is based at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum in Yorba Linda, California. After Nixon’s death in 1994, the foundation established the Architect of Peace Award, first presented in 1995 to individuals who embody Nixon’s lifelong pursuit of “a more peaceful world.”
Previous recipients include former U.S. Presidents George H. W. Bush (2000) and George W. Bush (2024), as well as Senator John McCain, former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, and Singapore’s founding Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew.
