According to a Quinnipiac University poll released on August 28, 37% of respondents approve of President Donald Trump's handling of his duties, while 55% disapprove. In last month's survey, 40% of voters supported Trump, and 54% disapproved.
This marks the lowest approval and highest disapproval ratings for Trump since returning to the White House. In a January poll, his approval was at 46%, with 43% disapproving. The latest Quinnipiac poll shows that 84% of Republican voters approve of the President's performance, with 9% disapproving and 7% offering no opinion or refusing to answer. Last month, 90% of Republicans supported him, with 9% disapproval and 2% unsure or not answering.
Among Democratic voters, 98% disapprove of the President's leadership, compared to 95% last month.
Among independent voters, 58% disapprove of Trump, 31% approve, and 11% have no opinion or did not answer.
Quinnipiac University also surveyed respondents on six key issues, including crime, negotiations to end the Russia-Ukraine war, foreign policy, the economy, trade, and the Israel-Hamas conflict. The results show the President’s approval rating is low across all six issues.
The Quinnipiac poll was conducted from August 21 to 25 with 1,220 adults. Quinnipiac is known for its public opinion research in both state and national contexts, focusing on policy issues and elections.
