In a wide-ranging discussion with a Sky News anchor at the Doha Forum in Qatar on December 7, Donald Trump Jr. addressed the U.S. administration’s recent diplomatic efforts around the world.
When asked directly whether he believed his father would withdraw from the Ukraine peace process, Trump Jr. replied:
“I think it’s possible. The great and unique thing about my father is that you never know what he’s going to do. He’s unpredictable.”
Trump Jr. criticized corruption in Kyiv and described Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as “one of the greatest marketers of all time.”

According to him, Ukraine’s corruption problem makes U.S. military and financial support for Kyiv “unreasonable.” He also argued that sanctions on Russia “aren’t really helping.”
He went on to say that drug cartels bringing narcotics into the United States pose a far more immediate and serious threat than anything happening in Ukraine or Russia.
Although he does not believe Ukraine will be “abandoned,” Trump Jr. noted that “the American public has little appetite for endless conflicts and for continuing to fund Ukraine’s military efforts.”
His remarks come as President Trump pushes a new diplomatic initiative to end the war in Ukraine. While Trump Jr. holds no official position in the administration, he is believed to have taken part in secret discussions with Ukrainian politicians alongside U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff.
