Ushakov added that Washington has offered numerous comments and signals regarding Ukraine, but stressed that Moscow will continue to rely on those agreements.
“There have been many signals — naturally, some people like them and some do not — but the meeting in Anchorage is the foundation for everything,” Ushakov stated, noting that the agreements represent a promising path toward a peaceful settlement in Ukraine.

He said that the decisions reached in Anchorage have been relayed to Ukraine, but Kyiv does not agree with the conditions set out. When asked whether the U.S. has withdrawn from the Anchorage agreements, Ushakov said Washington has not officially declared them invalid. He also noted that a planned summit between the U.S. and Russian leaders has been postponed, though communications on the matter are still ongoing.
“We agreed on a meeting in Budapest, but it was later delayed for a time. Contacts regarding this are still underway,” Ushakov said.
He added, “I believe that if Washington and Moscow reach a fundamental agreement on holding a meeting between the two leaders at some location, many of the remaining technical and political differences will gradually be resolved.”
